Saturdays are the bussiest day of the week for college basketball. With multiple games going on at once, its impossible to catch every game. Games start at 12pm and run through the early morning hours of sunday. Wether you can only watch one game at a time or you dont want to spend your entire afternoon (12+hours) watching basketball, I am going to give you games I think are most worth watching.
Wisconsin @ Purdue – 1:00 pm
Both teams are top 4 in the Big 10. Wisconsin, winners of three straight get a big challenge ahead of them with Purdue. 2 Johns lead the Badgers in scoring, John Tonje at 19 a game, and john Blackwell at 15 a game. I’ve bearly caught any of Wisconsin this year, therefore I cant tell you if they are legit and can make the sweet 16 and beyond. Purdue is coming off a road loss to Michigan, snapping their 4 game win streak. Many bracketologist believe Purdue is firmly on the 2 line. They are an impressive 7-6 in quad 1 games and have a strong strength of scedule remaining. Wisconsin leads the nation in free-throw percentage at 84% which could be the difference in a close game where execution on the charity stripe is crucial. This game overlaps Arizona vs Houston so if I had to pick a game to focus in on and watch from start to finish I would go with arizona vs Houston.
Arizona vs Houston – 2:00pm
I would choose to watch this game over the previously mentioned one because these teams are neck and neck at 1 and 2 in the big 12 race. Houston is 12-1 in conference with high level wins over Kansas, Kansas State which is aging well, Baylor, and West Virginia. Meanwhile, Arizona is 11-2 with wins over Iowa State, texax tech, and Baylor. Arizona has more losses but more Quad 1 wins that Houston. Both teams are top 10 in the NET. This could be the lone time these two teams meet in an expanded Big 12. At this point in the season these two teams are locks to make the big dance.
Auburn @ Alabama – 4:00pm
Yes!, the rare 1 vs 2 matchup. With Duke losing to clemson and dropping to 3 in the AP poll Alabama took their spot. These 2 teams represent the upper echolon of the dominant SEC this year. Both these teams are bringing back players that were valueble assets last year. Johni Broome, Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, and Chad Baker Mazara. Alabama is the hotter team, they have not lost since Jan. 14. Auburn has only lost to Duke and Florida all year. Every game Alabama has the ability to erupt offensively and rack up 80, 90, 100 points. Auburn has to limit Alabamas offense by finding and sticking to their shooters and defensive rebound.
